Somebody asked me how many words United Light was. After some serious copy and pasting it comes up to about
149,994 Words !
Just six short of 150,000. It came up to 650 pages but, minus the pictures it was a good 600 pages. Like I said I would have made it into separate novels and gone more into depth if I was publishing it so, you could equivocate it to the Twilight Series in length. Now, that I have the whole thing in a rather large word document I may keep it and re-edit it at a later date.
Future
I just want to keep you guys up to date on what to expect from me.
In looking back I was not happy with the way I ended United Light. In re-reading it I thought it felt a little rushed and clumsy.
I have been sleeping on this a lot and talking it over with a fellow writer at Cobalt and I can truly say United Light is not over. I am going to be writing a few different oneshots/stories or chapters to get a bearing on what the story will become and then from there try to form a continuous story. Of course this will be all for me.
I imagine what I write for UL next will be a kind of spin-off and it most likely won't be called United Light. I imagine it will be a different type of story but still deal with the same elements. I have to say I have really fallen in love with the characters. I just hope I don't fall into bad sequel syndrome !
Present
Now, I have no clue how long the new United Light will take and in the mean time I do have a more developed idea spinning around. I am going to commit to actually making an Ivy Brothers web serial. Writing these takes a lot of research on my part (I don't want Linda getting on me !) so it takes me a little while to write. But, because the first few chapters will be more personable I should have the first few parts up pretty soon.
I am still not sure how this story will fit into the pre-established Ivy Brothers line but, you can catch up on the Ivy Brothers at the website I have for them.
I should warn, I may change some names or little details. This story was originally going to be just from Elias's POV but, there is something fun about writing in the different voices so I may change it as I see need. Or this may be one of those stories where the story is told through a variety of voices. There are some books that are written this way but, the names of them escape me at the moment.
Either way the IVB will be my next big thing so to speak.
And in honor of what she did for me (and I actually lurk the forums !)
