I wanted to talk a little bit about the alternate verison of chapter 9. I'm actually not sure what to call it because it was written in the early stages and then abandoned but, I prettied it up to post so some key deatails are missing.
I should first explain some of my writing process although it tends to change with every chapter.
1. I tell all the events, actions and most of the dialogue
2. Then I go back and explain more. Like I'd change "the street was empty" to "their were a few groups and pairs of people every few feet." (that was a bad example, it's hard to think of one !)Or I'd delete something that I didn't end up going on
3. Then I edit it again, while trying to find a good "mood" music.
So, I was in stage 1 when I wrote the part that ended up being deleted. I had written that Juliana takes more things out of the duffel bag once she unlocked it including, a lock pick and a hospital access key and that is why she has those things later.
Writing this was sort of getting into the adventure-y-thriller writing, just for fun but I felt like it just didn't make sense. I also new it was getting them in more trouble than they could get out of, I mean the guard would know their faces, there are camera's. Other than that I'm not sure if I have a good reason for not including this but, when I was done writing I just said no and deleted it. Then I pressed ctrl z and thought I might share it with you as an alternate story.
I was shocked by Linda's post putting my writing into numbers. It is actually scaring me because I think I am running out of fuel even though my goal was to make this longer than a novel might be. I hope somewhere in chapter 10 I find a gas station !
