Not that anybody asked but in my head Luce's body inspy is swole Chris Evans. It was grueling research to find these important images but I did it.

Although actually I imagine Luce being broader in the waist and having less of the Dorito chip shape.


Who Am I ?
So...Pulse is all drafted out and I'm 17,000 words into Future!Vice. Speaking of, Future!Vice it is sort of turning into my magnum opus of sorts...I have three flash fictions that go with it...And that's the last I'll talk about it until I'm closer to sharing it.

I should probably be working on TLS but I want to give this UL thing a once over because it is killing me that I wrote 3,000 good words in Summer 2017 and have just been starting at it. I've been doing some re-reading of UL3 and if I could re-write it I would. It's got so much drama. But I think having those soap operatic drama moments are apart of the series so I may put some of that into the UL short story.

Chapter 3
It's so strange to have this serial divided into "chapters" because I didn't really write with chapters in mind. Somebody asked me how this serial fit into Bright Lines and all I can say, without confusing myself, is that Haley has been at Control for a few years now.

Recap
The cartel takes Isla Haley into custody for the murder of Linz Sharpe, an escort at Control. Haley is upset at Luce for siding with the cartel and they take a break. Luce talks to Isla and she explains that when she left Linz was alive. Luce talks to Charlotte and looks at the security footage then goes to Control and tells Haley he will help him find the actual murderer.

Literally me everytime Lile talks about liking United Light:

United Light is just such a crazypants story, that wanders all over the place and is just too much at times. It feels soap opera-y in the worst way because I just didn't know how to end it.  I do like Liberation better, but it also feels like a lot of messy moving parts. I was doing a lot of cartwheels to make the timelines work.

Character Inspys
I only have a few of these and none of them are spot on but have similar vibes. It's funny, I actually like that the younger Vice characters are in their late 20's to early 40's. They get to be the ones in charge instead of being under someone else.



Luce

So, Luce has some serious Richard Madden in Bodyguard vibes. Particualarly him in this lighting  but...less pretty boy.

I see his coloring as closer to Sam Heughan. I sort of love his smile in this picture.

Haley
The closest I could find for Haley is the model Emil Anderson but...more pretty boy.

And I imagine his hair length more like this:

Charlotte
She will always be a young Zoey Deschanel but with jet black hair and the bluntest of bangs.

Rias
I also found this model who looks a lot like Rias

Ashley Greene is my forever Minnow and she's actually around the age Minnow would be but Ashley has gone more blonde.

The Process
Something that has been throwing me off about my latest serial (TLS, Pulse and Future!Vice) attempts is that I'm writing them as one big document and not as individual chapters like I did with everything else. In some ways it's easier but it also make "milestones" hard. I'm not thinking in chapters anymore which makes it hard to write ahead. I don't think I could have written Compulsion this way with all the POVs but I definitely like having the big document for searching purposes and I like to see the word count tick up.

Pulse is currently 16,000 words and all I can think about is those writing zones I'd go into during UL and pop out 10,000 word chapters!

Future!Vice
I am having so much fun writing this and I cannot wait to share it. I re-read Vice for it and it wasn't as cringy as I thought it would be. Vice is so much what I wanted it to be and I haven't quite been able to master that cyberpunk edge ever since. Pulse has a real light cyberpunk touch and Future!Vice is even lighter.

Pulse
This takes place a year after Sweet Prince. I tried to write it in a way that it doesn't need a recap but here's a quick refresher:

Haley works at Control, a private no limits sex club inside Jean Dory's brothel,Virtue, to pay for a hit on Maxwell.When Rayne Washington dies Haley fears the terms of his hit might be renegotiated so he tries to do it himself but fails and gets Twyla Banner--Luce's sister implicated. The Cartel negotiates with Maxwell to give him a multi million dollar campaign donation in exchange for Twyla and Haley's unofficial pardon. Sara wants Twyla to stay in the safe house just in case but instead Twyla goes off with her best friend/new girlfriend Colette and Haley goes back to the club where he is working to payback his new debt to the cartel. 

Also, after the failed assassination attempt Luce and Haley makeout and decide they'd like to keep doing that and start a consenting dominant/submissive relationship.

Let's Try Something ?

After the last comment section I considered calling this Sentinel Lost to give it a cool anime-style title but that felt a little disingenuous and I had already made this.

Last year I made a lot of little cartoons to waste time while not writing and this is one of my favorite. I've shared it before and I still love it.

I really can't pinpoint how this idea came about exactly. I started writing it in late 2016 but this picture pretty much sealed Xael in my head.

I'm not going to share too many inspirations for TLS , but  my Mermaid board on Pinterest is now unlocked.

Serial Update

I feel like I need to apologize for my farewell  freak out after finishing  Sweet Prince. At the time I felt like I'd never come up with anything again but now it feels oddly...stupid. 

I've just been dipping my toe back into the Vice world and it's sucked me in. Lile said  she writes Lux Aeterna for herself and I feel that way about Vice. I have no idea why I'm drawn to writing these characters over and over again but I can't stop. I would never say they feel real or anything  but I like exploring them and when I do writing feels fun again. I guess ?

 

I say that to say that the Lucely serial is closing in at 14,000 words.....

Future!Vice
 ....and I also started writing another Future!Vice thing and got out 6,000 words  and I'm really into it. The playlist is giving me life. The only thing is that in order to really make Future!Vice  work I'm not sure it can be cannon. I really just want everyone to be in their HEAs/HFNs but in order to make a plot for Future!Vice bad things have to happen to the characters. I'm just not sure I know how to write sad anymore...not since I killed off Minnow in Veritas.

Mermaid Wrap Up

So, that concludes my unplanned mermaid interlude. It all started because I had this recurring image in my head of two  reunited merman squeezed in a big Rubbermaid type container together and fleeing from something and the story kind of grew from there. I also think the phrase "punk ass bitch" is kind of funny and I wanted to open a serial with it....okay on to the GIF post !

More Vice
As I inadvertently revealed in my last post, I just can't seem to quit the Vice world. I somehow managed to bang out a Vice flash fiction. Also I have outlined a novella that exists in the same timeline as Built For Sin about Luce and Haley. This Luce/Haley story was one of those rare occasion when scenes and characters would not leave me alone and I wrote it all out just to get it out of my head. It's going to be a feat for a few reasons that I'm not going to say much about it.

Also me: Don't mind the construction I'm just re-working my website. I couldn't find a serial for reference for a thing I'm doing and I realized the mess my site was.

Character Inspiration

 I've discovered character inspo Pinterest and these models are pretty close to Jayden, Jacob and Soren.

This little story went through quite a few character edits. In the outline Jayden was just his roommate and not his stepbrother and didn't have any lines. Jacob's name was Landon for a while but I changed it because it looked similar to Luka. Also Soren's name was Mathias for a while but it just didn't fit.

AquaWorld II 
Recap
After an investigative documentary costs animal trainer Jacob King his job at the sea themed park AquaWorld he and his co-workers have a trespassing party where Jacob discovers AquaWorld has been hiding a merman named Soren .  After deciding Jacob isn't a threat Soren asks Jacob to help him find Luka, a mermaid that was taken with him and no longer at the park.

Get ready for a brief Cobalt reference...
