I have no clue how people feel about these entries where I kind of go behind the words but, this is one of them. As I often say I have no clue what will happen so there are no spoilers.
After writing chapter 5 I knew I wanted to use Elisa as a way to show life on the commune but, I had not really thought of how to do it. I finally broke down and wrote in her voice, I realize now that this story has to be told in 2 voices while the 3 characters are separated. I never intended to separate Elisa from Sawyer and Julianna but somehow it happened. I am very happy most of you seemed happy with the way I portrayed her.
And if you read chapter 5 and 6 carefully you do know that yes, Cecilia is Sawyer's sister. He lists her when he is talking to Julianna at McDonalds. It is no secret and I am not sure if it has any significance.
Someone commented about symbolism in this chapter. There is really only one instance, which is Julianna's shower. It did not start out that way but, by the time I was ready to post this it was a symbol for Julianna washing away her innocence and purity and lilies are often a symbol of purity and innocence. That is why instead of watching Sawyer move the furniture like she does in chapter 1 she helps him, that's why she rolls the chair.
Obviously people do not change overnight so, Julianne's changes will be gradual so maybe some of you did not catch her differences
I have taken my share of English classes and I like everyone else had the 'sometimes a river is just a river' mentaility. And with me most times it is but, ocassionally I slip in some.
There is a writer (I want to say Tim O'Brian) who is known for writing dialouge using real life language-- he mimicks the way when we talk we interrupt each other, change subjets and talk over each other in his writing.I kind of do the same thing with people. We constantly meet people who come in and out of our lives who we never see or remember again. That is the case with many of my characters. They are there to serve a purpose but, I have no idea if they will be a love interest or a significant character
One thing I notice that I have done a lot is write retrospectively, which I understand can be confusing so I will try to stop doing that. Like in the first section where Elisa tells you where she is, she goes back to how she got there and then she is back where she is.
As for the music, I found Elisa to be much more of a stronger woman than Julianan so, I really chose songs that were more about girl power and finding strength. I found the band Saving Jane, had some really great ones but I only chose one but, One Girl Revolution is good too.

Chapter 6
I was invited to a wedding this weekend so, I fully intended to spend Saturday night going to bed early so, I could be ready for the drive back home but, I couldn't sleep I found a Starbucks that was open late and sat down to IM with whoever was online when I decided to write some United Light.
It was like a total writer-nirvana moment because it was as if the chapter fell out of my fingertips and like the characters were telling me what to write, it was wonderful. So, I am proud to say chapter 6 is up.
I have made a rule for myself that I will try to keep the entries atleast 5,000 words or more like the last one but, this one is about 4,700.
When writing this chapter I did a little something different. For what I was writing my playlist just wasn't cutting it so, I decided to listen to Linda's when I wrote it. And I have to say it helped but, the playlist is very Linda Leigh, not that that is a bad thing.
I really think Come Round Soon by Sara Barielles could be the theme song for Spirits, it's like the song was written for the series it is absolutley perfect.
Anyway during the editing process I decided to add some songs to the playlist I origninally had and it helped the story come along. They are not nearly as perfect as Linda's but they definetley made more sense for what I writing . I am going too see if I can put the playlists in my sidebar somewhere so, I will see.
Edit -- The new playlist is in the sidebar ! I did it, I feel smart !
I really had fun writing this and I can't wait for the next piece to be told.

Answers !
So, once again sorry no update but I did give you 2 last week !
Anyway I thought answering some of your comments in her might suffice as an entry, a lot better than some writers *cough* Joel Baker *cough* I know.
Also, there are a few pictures in this post too.
Early Love-- Wow, this really puts in perspective how young the characters are
Yes, the characters are young and I want them visualized as actual young adult and not adults playing teens. Julianna is newly 18,Sawyer is 23 and Elisa is 22. I know both Grezcyn and Mason are actually 18 but they have the look I would want for Elisa,the full-lipped, curly hair, sweet face. I imagine Julianna having a really innocent face. Ad for Sawyer I want him to have a strong body but also a youthful face. I picked Yelchim mostly for his hair.
petite_butterfly-- I'm loling at all the mixtures ! Jenna Boyd looks fierce in that photo.
That was the picture where she looked oldest and not so young,that's why I chose it. I imagine the look on her face is the one she would have most of the time; a look of determination and peace.
Gina -- um, why does Elisa have to be less skinny ?
I feel like Alice Greczyn is very skinny like in this photo:
and I think Elisa would have a more athletic healthy look.
HappyApple--I have never heard of any of these actors. Great choices though

Jenna Boyd -- Is probably best known for playing Bailey in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie that came out 5 years ago.
Carly-Schroder was in the soccer movie Gracie
Anton Yelchin --was in an episode of Criminal Minds but is most well known for being in Terminator Salvation
Eric Christen Olson was in the movie Fired Up but was a star in the sitcom The Loop.
Alice Greczyn was in Lincoln Heights and Dukes of Hazzard
And, if you don't know who Micheal Douglas is , I can't help you.
Sidney ---I expected Julianna to be blonde, I mean it's not like her name was Guliana which would make her seem italian. I like the choices but I think as someone mentioned I see Anna Paquin as Julianna.
I think Anna Paquin is a little to old to play an 18 year old but, she is pretty !
Hunter -- I didn't recognize Carly ! I don't know if that is the best pick of Anton !

Casting Call
I was very surprised at the negative feelings people had toward Julianna but, she is my character and I don't see myself changing anything about her. Those people are really going to hate this post, but what can I do ?
I was asked who I imagined playing my characters and I discovered there was no one but, I could mix a few people.
Julianna
I see an older Jenna Boyd (she's 15)
or Carly Schroder in this picture :
Those two look very much alike to me.
Sawyer
It would have to be a mix between Anton Yelchin
but with the face of a younger Eric Christen Olson:

Behind the Print
So, I obviously don't have an update for you guys because I put everything I had into that last one but, I will give you some behind the scenes look and I have a lot to get through in this entry.
I will first say that United Light started off as an idea, and I really haven't fallen in love with this story just yet but, it really is growing on me as I attempt to complicate the characters. And I will admit sometimes the scenes and conversations fall out of the sky like rain, as if they were some distant memory I had and am retelling for you all. I missed answering some comments in a previous entry so, hopefully this will answer all of those.
I am saddened to say that I found out that Web Serial Novesl have been done. However they appear to be a very different genre than what I write but, still the word is not mine and I feel like I should acknowledge that.
Okay now,on to the playlist I want to give you the rationale behind the songs
The Frames -- Falling Slowly - Not only is this a beautiful dance on the FOX show SYTYCD but the first words really sum up Julianne's experience."I don't know you but,I All the more for that words fall through me and always fool me and I can't react." She doesn't know Sawyer but, she really does want to like him and be friends with him. I'll admit I don't know the rest of the lyrics but, the beat it reminds me of someone standing in a big empty field deciding where to go.
Wild Horses- Natasha Beddingfield -- I discovered this song via the handy google and I have to say I fell in love with it. I love Bedingfield's voice in this song it is so powerful and beautiful. I chose this song because Julianna hasn't known many people her age and what they do within the United Light and with her parent's getting older she is worried about being left alone or what her life will be. Julianna does have a rebellious side she does wonder what it's like to be free so this song was perfect. And then when Julianna meets Elisa, she sees the girl who she wants to be but, Julianne is very guarded and doesn't know how to let that down ecspecailly around Sawyer.
This song is what inspired me to write about the horses being their first sight of civilization (it was formerly cows). And in my ode to Catcher in the Rye she wonders about the horses being free. Also, just as a little side info, there really are Wild Mustangs living in Nevada and Utah.
The Outside -- Taylor Swift - I heard this song first when I took my cousin and her friend (they are 12) to see Taylor Swift in NYC. I am not a big Taylor Swift fan but, I think this song is really for Sawyer but also for Julianna who is trying something new.
This Woman's Work --Maxwell-- Another song I can't always hear the words to but, if you look up the lyrics it is really beautiful. I think this song is for Elisa and Sawyer because I think at this point he is afraid he will never see Elisa again.I really just love this song though, it's from "Love and Basketball" but,it is not on the soundtack. (I love Sanna Lathan and Omar Epps too ! 2 beautiful people).
Bella's Lullaby -- which was arranged by Carter Burell not Edward Cullen -- Another favorite of mine, I just love the first 20 seconds. It jumpstarts my writing engine.
Put Your Records On- Bailey-Ray This song I chose because I feel like it is about friendship, which is something I think Elisa, Sawyer and Julianna can build together. I justlike this song, it makes me want to call my best friend and dance.
Superman-- Robin Thicke- Find me one girl who doesn't like Robin Thicke,jk. I really love his voice and I love this song because I think Sawyer will find a lot of his strenghth through the women in his life. So, I love the first line "I'm a Superman thanks to Lois Lane."
After All- Jonathon Clay -- This is a song, I heard on a TV show somewhere and I liked it. If you can't tell I tacked it on the ending of the playlist at the last minute. While I see no ending in sight for United Light I think this song will play a role.I also see this song telling me their might be another love interest but, I don't know. I think it's a very sweet song and if I ever get married (knock on wood) I'd want this song to play at some point.
I did listen to Halo,it took me a while to figure out who Beysus was,lol. I do like that sing for this story and it has inspired me to write something so, it is very helfpful. I love the suggestions!
Okay other little tidbits; I am a little embarrased to admit but, Julianna's sundress design is based on this picture. I know people put outfits at the end of some stories but, I really needed to picture this dress so I used one I found online.
Speaking of Julianna I did make a consious choice to make her blonde because that seems to be something people shy away from having blonde protagonist because they feel like it is so sterotypical or because we see blondes in a negative light.So, I did the opposite of that and used a blonde to show it is more than a hair color. And not all blondes have to be Marilyn Monroe or Hannah Montana.
Yes, I think the Starbucks drinks do play a role in who they are. Elisa's drink a half-caf Iced Latte is slightly classic,slightly custom and simple.Just like Julianna is a mixture of personalities.
Sawyer has black coffee, which is a strong drink but notice, he never drinks it.
Julianne get's chai tea because I love chai tea.
I never figured out why the name Caine seemed so evil and I think it is because of Caine and Abel but, that was not my intention. However it does help me come up with storylines for him. Caine will not be a single note character who is seen as purely evil. I want all the characters to be sympathetic.
In the original version Caine "Taser-whips" Sawyer because I thought Tasing wouldn't have the same affect. My decsion to have him get tased was from this video of a real life incident. However I thought doing it twice was a little cruel. I used this video for help in writing that scene.
So, that's all I have for now, I appreciate all of you guys curiousity and questions I hope I answered them all,I may have more later but, that's all for now.

Another Update
So, after carrying it around for a while I have Chapter 5 for United Light. I have so much to post about this chapter one that I will be typing it up for tomorrow's entry. I will also be putting my rationale behind the song choices I have chosen also in tomorrow's entry.
