Let's talk chapter 5
Okay, so not much to say about this one. I just want to do some attempt at blogging each time! Chapter 5 is sort of a bridge chapter. I'm glad a lot of you are picking up on the differences between Rin and Soul. I didn't intentionally create such a strong character in Rin (in fact . . . well, I'll come back to that).

I have some more pics on my desktop I thought I'd share. I kind of picture hoard when dreaming up serials even if I never use the images. These two pics  were my other two inspirations for Soul. I think it's the vest thing . . .  Darren's eyes just look so honest !

Chapter 5

The Process

Oh, the process. I wanted to blog on something with this chapter post, so I decided to post on the process of my other works in very little progress. I haven't lost the spark for Veritas, I am working diligently on it and the Q&A. The Q&A will be posted at a later date.

I can tell you that the reboot is a very different story. It won't be what you are used to . . .

What I'm finding the hardest is coming up with a name ! I don't know if you've noticed, but I've always had a hard time coming up with names. My best effort was with Sundays, because the day Sunday was reoccuring in the work. I have to admit I originally wanted to call Veritas "The Melancholy of Alan Gray" but, it doesn't fit the story. Most cyberpunk stories/novels are one word.

Okay, I have noticed BH unintentionally has A LOT of similarties with LL. I mean A LOT ! I promise I'm not doing it on purpose. We haven't gotten to them just yet. . .

So, I don't have a lot of inspiration pictures. I have been using We Heart It to put some together. We kind of have a love/hate relationship. The search function works really well, but it has duplicates of multiple pictures. I may switch to Tumblr. . . .

The Unnamed Reboots

It's funny, Veritas is still in a folder labeled SP (special project) in my desktop. I didn't have a name for it at the time and now it is becoming another SP. I'm really enjoying this reboot. The story is . . . different. With that in mind I have decided that since Lile's was so fun I want to do character interviews for the reboot. If you have any questions about their "new" adventure submit them if you'd like.

This is the last repost for me ! I did lie a little. One chapter of BH is 5,900 words (although . . .) but another one is only 2500 so it evens out.

I have 7 chapters written, so I am going to take my time posting these and not try to rush. I want to have a significant amount of work done on Veritas before I post it. My problem is I get excited and want to post something the minute I write !

Hello,welcome to the repost  party come on in ! You look wonderful ! What did you say ? What's that image before the cut ? Oh, I'll get to that. Why don't you just get one of these cute tea/cupcake hybrids (or beer/nacho hybrid if Erik invited you) and have a seat. I'll explain.

Blessed Hearts
I contemplated doing the whole post like we were at a party, but decided not to.


Well, this is awkward . . .  it's weird to have to get back into this blogging thing. It may take me time to get into the groove. Anyway, so no I'm not working on anything new. Blessed Hearts is the new name for De Tuileres. I tripped over the name myself and wanted to change it. So, I slapped together a new cover quickly and changed the name. We will get back to Blessed Hearts in a minute. Let's catch up. . .

Reboot
So, as I have said I am rebooting some of my serials. I imagined Veritas would be easiest and I've actually made some headway. In a related story, I am also changing the name of Veritas. Name ideas pending.

I've also decided to reboot United Light and wrap OHG into it. I'm outlining now. And no, the name will not be changing although if it is two parts United Light 2 totally needs a new name. Calling it United Light 2 was kind of a low point in my web serialing . . .*head desk*

You're probably asking, Shawna what possessed you to do this  ? Well, I hate to admit it, but I've been listening to the Breaking Dawn soundtrack on repeat for hours and it inspired some new ideas and realizations about my serials.  That's why it's the background music at the party.So, I guess we can blame Stephenie Meyer for my inspiration streak ?

Anyway, I don't want to talk too much about these, yet.

Who's on first ?


Well, Blessed Hearts is first , because it's almost done. I have decided it will be 9 chapters, each about 9 pages. Like I said, it's a novella and sets up for a potentially larger story. So, let's treat the reboots like BWG Angel and push them to the back of our minds.

I still want my challenge piece.Thought you got out of that one did you ? However we have questions we need answered in JNRR so, no rush.

Blessed Hearts Part II

I'm going to share some pictures because pictures are fun ! I have to admit, one hard thing about this story is I could never find actors who looked like the characters so, they are all amalgimations of people.

Rin 
She was the hardest. No one looks how I imagine her, but Shannyn Sossamon was the closest. Dark features upturned nose. I don't know their ages, but I'd say Rin in 17-18.

Seraphim
She is a mix of these images of Sairose Ronan and Emma Watson. Sorry, I stole one of you inspirations, LL ! Rin is 14ish. They are both etheral and pretty !

 Soul
Soul was another hard one. He just had to have this pure innocent look to him.Chis Hemsworth was the original inspiration and then I found a photo of someone who I latter found out was Nicholas Hoult. He is 17-18 too. They both have the eyes and clean cut look.

Melchoir Dark
He was actually the first character I came up with. I had been collecting several inspirations for him. I believe the model on the left is Marlon Brando's grandson. The other is the lead singer from My Chemical Romance. For some reason I know Dark is 18.

Scratch that. This is Marlon Brando's grandson, Tuki. The other guy is Mathias Lauridsen. They are both inspirations though. Tuki has the look and Mathias has the dark stare. Gerard Way has the arrogant look BTW, this is a horrible ad for watches.

Repost !

So, I did edit and tweak these chapters. I put them on a new site (where all the reboots will go), because I wanted to keep the old version up for me to look back at. I'm sure at some point I'll lock the old ones. So, re-read or not. Leave suggestions, questions or criticism if you want.I'll try and answer some questions (hmm, maybe I can let you all interview the Veritas characters about their reboot. . . .

Oh, where to begin ? I don't have a good reason for my absence as Lile does. I mean, I just got married, moved into a new place and acquired a teenage stepdaughter !

Pity Repost Party

I was conflicted when Lile hinted I should join the repost party. I mean, I'd been thinking of doing the same thing for a while. However . . . my absence isn't just because of the reasons above. I have to admit for some time now I've just felt like my characters left me. I was losing my connection to them and their stories. This is kind of what happened with OHG and I ended up taking a hiatus. 

Such A Tease

As I'm sure you all have noticed, I've been teasing you with my blog posts/layout a little, but it all has meaning. I decided to strip my blog down to the basics of black and white to represent what I am doing with my writing. I'm stripping it all away and as I find new inspiration I'll start adding more color into the blog.

What exactly does all that mean ? Okay, here it is . . . I am going to be re-writing and re-posting some of my serials. I think I may start with Veritas because I know United Light would be a HUGE undertaking to start with. I'm thinking of taking the originals down, but I'm not sure. I don't want to give more details on that just yet. It's just something I'm working on.

De Tuilleres

I think I posted 4 chapters of this and I actually have 8+ written. This serial is also getting re-edited and reposted. I was trying to hard to make it a complete story and then one day I realized it's just a beginning. So, I'm thinking it will be about 9 or 10 3,000 word chapters.

Who's on First ?

I don't know who will get posted first. I think I will repost the edited De Tuilleres first. After that it's kind of a toss up. I'm leaning towards Veritas (which will get a name change). I will keep the characters, but I want to change the story completely. I'm even thinking of combining two of the serials into one.
